I will be traveling in about a week to Kerala for a bicycling trip . I am very confused about what I should bring to wear for this vacation as the Bike Tour told me I would be okay to bike in cycling shorts and sleeveless shirts is that true? Also do I need to bring a letter or some authorization from my doctor for the prescriptions I will be traveling with,  even if I have them in their original bottles? Thank you so much for your help, Susyn Answer: Expect a high temperature of around 30°C during the afternoon in Kerala during the month of November. On the other hand evenings do cool down and the average temperature is around 23°C. If you are with a group then cycling in shorts and sleeveless shirts should not be a problem. Kerala is relatively safe for tourists. Although tourists should try and not attract public attention by hugging or kissing in public places. Regarding your medical prescriptions, as long as they are in the original bottles with your name showing you won’t have any problems. Pack a light raincoat as this may help. Have a great visit. Thanks for visiting Travel India Smart. Question: We wanted your advice on renting a car while on holiday. We would like to stay in the hills of Kerala in a house; are there drivers who can take us from that house in the hills to different tourist locations in Kerala every day? Would that driver charge per hour or per day? And be able to take us to a market to buy food? Thank you Answer: Have personally used a few drivers while visiting India and they are mentioned in an article on our website Travel India Smart. The page link is: http://travelindiasmart.com/car_driver_rental.php I doubt if you can rent a driver by the hour unless you know someone locally. Car and driver are available to tourists on either a destination basis, where you want to go from point A to point B. For this type of service depending on the distance you pay a set price. The other option is that you hire the car & driver for a set number of days, which is what I normally do when visiting Kerala. The driver in such cases will pick you up at the airport or station as pre-planned and stay with you till the end of your trip if you prefer. The charge per day for the car & driver we used was Rupees 2400 per day which works out to about $35 per day for a car and driver available 24/7 during your visit. The driver we used and his contact details are available on the link provided above, scroll down the page to ‘Car and Driver in Kerala’
